PUBLIC NOTICE: CONSULTATION ON THE DRAFT QUALITY OF SERVICE STANDARD FOR POSTAL AND COURIER SERVICES

The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) was established by the Uganda Communications Commission Act 2013 to regulate the telecommunications, radio, television, broadcasting and postal and courier services industry in Uganda. Section 5(k) of the Uganda Communications Act 2013 mandates the Commission to safeguard the interests of consumers and operators as regards the quality of communications services and equipment.

The Commission has developed a draft quality of service standards for the postal and courier services. The quality of service standards, is a framework intended to guide industry in the provision of postal service with regard to; speed and reliability of delivery, security of postal services, accessibility, liability and complaints handling, among others.

The Commission, therefore, seeks to obtain the input of stakeholders in the development of the Quality of Service Framework to ensure that the specifications meet the technical developments, current and future market needs. The consultation documents can be obtained and/or viewed from our website: www.ucc.co.ug.

Comments and submission should be sent to the address not later than 5:00pm on Friday, March 31, 2017. Only electronic or hard copy submissions will be considered.
