PUBLIC NOTICE: CONSULTATION ON THE DRAFT QUALITY OF SERVICE STANDARD FOR TELEVISION BROADCASTING SERVICES

The Uganda Communications Commission is a body Corporate established by the Uganda Communications Commission Act 2013 to regulate the telecommunications, radio, television, broadcasting and postal and courier services industry in Uganda. Section 5(k), of the Uganda Communications Act 2013 mandates the Commission to safeguard the interests of consumers and operators as regards the quality of communications services and equipment.

The Commission has developed a draft quality of service standards for television broadcasting services provided on the cable, satellite and terrestrial platforms. These standards are intended to guide industry in the provision of television broadcasting service and associated services to the public.

The Commission, therefore, seeks to obtain the input of stakeholders in the development of the Quality of Service Framework for television broadcasting services to ensure that the specifications meet the technical developments and current and future market needs. The consultation document can be obtained and/or viewed from our website: www.ucc.co.ug.
