Mr Godfrey Mutabazi is the Executive Director of Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) - the regulatory authority of the communications sector in Uganda, which comprises broadcasting, postal and telecommunications services.
Mr Mutabazi is an aeronautical engineer and a fully registered member of the Royal Aeronautical Society of the United Kingdom. He holds a Masters of Science Degree in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) with a bias in Spectrum Planning (University of Liverpool, U.K).
Previously, Mr Mutabazi worked in the United Kingdom for over ten years as an Engineer for several engineering companies, including Air Touring Services at Beggin Hill. He also worked as the Chief Engineer of Mustique Airways, the then largest and most prestigious charter airline in the East Caribbean.
Mr Mutabazi has extensive ICT experience, and is well versed with the communications sector as he is with aeronautics. Before joining UCC, Mr Mutabazi headed the then Broadcasting Council (1998-2010), whose role included advising Government on matters relating to the national broadcasting policy. He was also the pioneer Managing Director of Lighthouse Television (LTV) in Uganda.
Mr Mutabazi hails from Kamwenge District in Western Uganda. He is married with children, and has a passion for charity and community work.
